Notepad won't open any files

Ok i have run into this problem with notepad. And not thinking very much i tried to fix it through the registry. That didn't work but i was able to get notepad back. The problem is that whenever i click on a file to open it, opens a blank notepad document. I can open the files then through file->open. but i would like to just be able to doulble click on a file again. Thanks

Try this.

Find a .TXT file and right click.
Select the Open With.. option then Choose Program.
Ensure that the Checkbox 'Always use the selected program to open this kind
of file' is checked.
If Notepad is in the list of available programs then select it else you'll
have to Browse to \system32\notepad.exe

This should restore the correct registry settings and associate TXT files
with Notepad.
