Hi,

I have a bizarre behaviour of explorer : when I try to select the "open
with" submenu, the click on that option allways tries to opens the
highlighted file with notepad ( of course when it is a big file it is very
time consuming and i have to "taskmanager-close" it !)

How recover normal access to "open with" ?

TIA

"Open with" menu gives us a couple of suggested programs. For example, a
..DOC file "open with" gives me the following 3 options:

- Microsoft Office Word
- WordPad
- Choose Program

What are the selections you get when you right click a file then highlight
"open with"? Which suggested program exactly did you click?

Check your settings here:

Select the associated sub-key, if 'NoOpenWith' is listed, delete it.

Also here:

This setting allows you to control whether the checkbox to save the "Open
With" program is available when an unknown file type is opened.

and
