Notepad setup for printer

I sure would like to print the text as entered on the 'Notepad' . after
'Print' is selected , the printer copies a different ... picture . 8 1/2 x
11 printer and notepad setup is set . The paragraphs and sentences get broken
up or separated . If I work at it .. I can get it straight . Only by asting
paper per several test prints . Each time I start a note pad , I need to set
notepad page to a width of 8" or so by using a tape measure against mt 17 "
Labtop , and of course set printer margin dimensions . However , finding
bottom of notepad to equal 11 " is difficult . H/P Pavillion zd7020 us .
Thank you .

Turn off word-wrap option and you'll see exactly what your printer sees.
If you want logical formatting and have it obeyed, use WordPad instead.

Thank you Vanguard . I have tried removing 'word wrap ' no difference .I do
view page set up and print preview . This notepad cannot be set up to
indicate where 8 1/2 x 11 margins are . I will need {to master} the Word
pad as you mentioned . I have many notes to notepads as we all probably have
.. Whenever I print them the sentences get separated . I may be doing
something incorrectly still ? Any procedure to add will be followed , I will
be happy to try . Thank You again Vanguard .

Notepad doesn't have a print preview. What program are you using?

Notepad generates just text files. Same with the old command-mode edlin
program. Notepad will let you change the font but that is only the font
used to *display* the document within Notepad; i.e., the font is NOT
saved in the document which is still just a .txt file. Notepad is not a
word processor. Notepad is just a plain-text editor. It doesn't know
about paper size, margins, or any of that stuff. Just plain text. If
you don't want lines getting truncated when you print, turn off
word-wrap and make sure your lines are shorter than the width of your
paper.

Do a search for .txt files on your computer (that you have not written).
Open them up. Notice that they do not have indefinitely long lines.
They might use 64 to 72 character long lines to ensure the lines are
short enough so lines do no extend beyond the width (minus margin) of
the paper. If there are long lines, that .txt file's author wasn't
concerned about what the appearance of it would be when printed and that
lines would get sliced up and become the next line to produce a jagged
looking document (i.e., the author wrote the .txt file to be read, not
to be printed). After all, the author won't know how you might have
reconfigured your printer's settings as to the default size for
characters, characters per line, lines per pages, etc.

WordPad is easy to learn.
