set a permanent paper size

I have a series of charts as separate tabs in a workbook. I would like to
permanently set the paper size to 11x17. The problem is that my default
printer only prints 8-1/2 x 11, and I use a network printer for 11x17.

When I re-open the file, it automatically resets all the paper sizes to
8-1/2 x 11.

This is a huge problem because when other people open the file, it resets
the page layout to portrait if that is their default printer setup. This
moves all of the drawing items around and screws up the charts every time.

Is there some way to permanently fix the paper size so that it does not
change for any reason - ever - regardless of printer selection?

Can't you install a printer driver for the network printer on your
machine, and have that selected?

Hope this helps.

There is a printer driver for the network printer. However, multiple people
use the file, and everybody has a local printer that is the default. Excel
reformats the page size every time the file is opened on a computer with a
different default printer. Generally not a problem with 8-1/2 x 11, but it is
a problem when I want the page size to always be 11 x 17. When the page size
resets, drawing objects such as text boxes and lines drawn on the chart move
around and screw up the appearance. When another user saves the file, it
permanently screws up the formatting.

There has got to be a way to permanently set the paper size to 11 x 17
landscape!
