Notepad-open a txt file/make change/save/reopen and file is garbag

When I open a txt file and make a change to it, save and then reopen it comes
up garbage. The txt files are downloaded from a machine. We have two
identical systems and the other one works fine. What is weird is it doesn't
happen to every file.

Thanks for any help.

Let's have a look at this garbage - preferably by you attaching
it to your reply.

This is supposed to print out left alligned and in columns. I tried the
Wordwrap and doesn't help.

Your reply shows your problem but it does not give me enough
information to have a closer look at it. I need the actual files.
Please send the "before" and "after" file to this address:

I can't...the files are on a computer that doesn't have email.

Basically.....it's wrapping all the text into 1 huge document. When you
look at the original it looks like a normal typed document, left alligned
with some things centered. When a change is made, it runs all the
information together. That is all I can say.

Thanks,

It sounds as if your CRLFs get lost, perhaps because the original
document is comes from a non-Windows machine.

Have you considered using a floppy disk, a network connection
or a flash disk ("memory stick") to copy the file from the problem
PC to one that does have EMail?
