NOTEPAD.EXE REPAIR ????????

How can I repair Notepad.exe file on my system, and possibly other related
files?

When I get emails with normal text info. I cannot download the files, and
message comes up Windows cannot find...... Notepad.exe, etc.

Good while back I had to delete infected (virus) files as they could not be
cleaned or removed, it may be I deleted Notepad.exe then.

Anyway to repair it with Microsoft site?

Or I have manufacturers (Mesh in UK) Boot Recovery disc , but only gives me
option of installing full XP Windows software, not repairing it.

If I install it all again, will it simply replace existing copy already
installed & repair damaged files at the same time?

Thanks a lot!
