not responding errors

While working in word documents (Office Word 2003), I keep getting "not
responding" errors. Is there something I can do to prevent this from
happening? Today, for example, it has happened five times. I don't have the
time to wait for it to respond and then retrieve the document and resave,
etc.

You need to identify what is holding it up. Establish whatever else is
running at the time. Disable the office plug-in from your (Norton) AV
