Not responding error comes up frequently

I installed Xp for the 4th time and I still get the not
responding error even before I install all my programs,
and it also runs slower and slower as time goes on. What
to do?
 
Don, how much Ram does your system have. Reinstall XP that number of
times should be Unnecessary.
