Send your self 3 attachments. One a photo, one any other document and one a pdf file.
See if you get all three.
Then report back.

With that message selected, press Ctrl+F3. This will show the raw source code
of that message. Just before there is a big block of random characters, do you
see the filename winmail.dat mentioned? If so, that message was sent by
a sender using Outlook, which has a proprietary attachment encoding format
not understood by other mail clients. Ask the sender to resend using plain text
format. For more on this issue see

You are the Outlook sender as well as the recipient with the problem?

Did you confirm whether or not the source code of the received message
mentions a 'winmail.dat' file?

If the mail was sent from Outlook using Outlook's RTF format then Outlook
Express will never find the attachment. Outlook Express does not understand
Outlook's RTF format. Ask the Outlook user to please use Plain Text,
especially when sending attachments.

Windows Live Mail is not any more capable of understanding a
winmail.dat attachment from an Outlook client.
You need to configure Outlook to send in plain text format.
