I am reposting this as i did not get a response previously -can someone
answer please - thanks.
not receiving emails etc - I am not receiving some emails and sometimes the
sender receives a message stating that their message is undeliverable even
though I have received it. I am also not receiving Yahoo group items. I have
been to my Yahoo page and there are a considerable number of emails that are
bouncing each week. I contacted my server (Cox) 3 times and they assure me
that the problem is nothing to do with them. I eventually contacted Yahoo,
had a totally unsatisfactory (probably generic) response, wrote again and
again and have received no reply. One person sent the following to me - "This
Message was undeliverable due to the following reason: Your message was not
delivered because the destination computer refused to accept it (the error
message is reproduced below). This type of error is usually due to a
mis-configured account or mail delivery system on the destination computer;
however, it could be caused by your message since some mail systems refuse
messages with invalid header information, or if they are too large.
Your message was rejected by mx2.mail.yahoo.com for the following reason:
delivery error: dd This user doesn't have a yahoo.com account

I do not have a Yahoo email address and (e-mail address removed) is totally
unknown and nothing to do with me. I run Outlook, Office 2003 and XP Pro and
haven't the faintest idea of even where to start to rectify the problem - all
I know I am missing hundreds of emails most weeks. I cannot reinstall Office
2003 as it would appear a former roommate borrowed it and did not return it -
help. i receive most emails and have no problem sending. Take care. David

You cannot use Outlook with free Yahoo mail. Use your browser instead. If you
have a Yahoo paid pop mail acct, you must follow the special instructions on
Yahoo Help page to set up Outlook. You get an error when you try to send
Yahoo mail thru your Cox server. The yahoo address you list
(e-mail address removed) was the receiver's address, not yours. Use your Cox acct
instead and save the Yahoo acct as a "throw away" address for mailing lists
and possible spam sites.

I'm sorry but tech wise I don't have any Yahoo email account. My only contact
with Yahoo (as far as I know) is only receiving (when they manage to get
through!) Yahoo group messages and I received messages continually saying
"Dear Yahoo! Groups member, You belong to one or more email groups provided
by Yahoo! Groups (groups.yahoo.com). Recently, messages sent to you from
Yahoo! Groups have been returned to us as undeliverable. As a result, we have
temporarily turned off message delivery to this email address. If you are
reading this message, the delivery problem appears to be fixed. To start
receiving your groups messages by email again and turn your account back on,
please visit:
http://groups.yahoo.com/unbounce?adj=131647861,12574&p=1152994854 " which is
what I did. Also I received a message from sdfreecycle Moderator
[[email protected]] saying that I had unsubscribed from their
group when I hadn't actioned anything. So as far as I know I only use Cox and
never send anything through Yahoo although I need to receive a number of
Yahoo group stuff. Is it possible to break down what you say for a non-techie
please? As I'm not sure what it all means - thanks.

Sorry, I misunderstood your problem. Have you run antispyware and antivirus
programs lately? SpyBot, AdAware are free. Google them and install both.
Sounds like you visited a website that signed you up for services you don't
want--possibly by entering a contest, playing a game, etc. I wouldn't worry
about the Yahoo mail. Just add them to your Junk Mail/blocked senders List
and delete them. You might want to set up another Cox mail acct for yourself.
All providers allow more than one email acct. Good Luck!

I have SpyBot, AdAware, Pest Control and Norton and run them at least once a
week and, no, I don't enter contests or play games online. Some of the emails
that are bouncing are from friends that have nothing to do with Yahoo so
please keep sending your comments until we start locating where the problem
is - thanks.
