hi all

havent got a clue what im doing here but i'll try and explain best i can

cable modem plugs into linsys router, main PC is hard wired, laptop is
wireless ... simple so far

im trying to connect my XBOX to the net using a cross over cable from the
laptops NIC adapter, i think its got something to do with network routing
tables, but i havent got a clue where to start, anyone got any ideas

IPs from linksys are DHCP 192.168.1.*

ive set up the xbox to talk to the laptop (via x-over) on
192.168.0.1(laptop) and 192.168.0.2(xbox) all subnets are 255.255.255.0

thanks for any help

Why are you trying to connect the XBOX through the laptop and not the
Linksys?

because the xbox and linksys arent in the same room and i dont want to run
cables arround the house, or spend 60 quid on wireless adapters/bridges

wifes gone mad enough at the cost of xbox and games
