Not getting messages

Normally I use the msnews.microsoft.com as my news server. But today I had
no new messages in this (microsoft.public.excel.misc) newsgroup; the latest
one was at 1:15 pm yesterday. Other newsgroup (e.g ..... charting) are
current. This occurs on two PC's. If I use the newsserver supplied by my
ISP, then I get new messages.

Is the problem mine or has it to do with the server I get msnews from?

Hi Bernard!

The msnews server needed a healthy kick by Doug Hite of Microsoft.

After that you need to reset the group in Outlook Express.

There was a glitch in the system and excel.misc was not updating for quite a
while.

I found that by unsubscribbing, then re-subscribing and down-loading all
mesages(14,000+) I was able to sort it out.

Updating fine since.
