not even in my own network

I have a small network (workgroup) at home: an XPSP2 workstation, an XPSP1
notebook, and one computer with W98. This is my own network and nobody else
uses it.

From the workstation, I cannot access the 'programs' and 'windows' folders
on the notebook. Access denied. Why is this (well I guess for some security
reason) and how can I disable that?

Either you have the firewall set incorrectly, or you have XP Pro and
Simple Sharing enabled (disable in Folder Options>View) or you have XP
Home. XP Home Edition does not permit the sharing of users' home
directories (My Documents) or the Program Files folder, although you
can share folders inside those directories.
