Not enough Memory Error

Running into an issue with a couple of spread sheets -- one in particular.
When I open it, it is almost like it is corrupted -- the spreadsheet isn't
that large, but contains a couple of links between sheets. When it opens, as
soon as I move my curser the screen splits and I have two spread sheets and
it locks up excel. then gives me an error about not enought memory or not
enough system resources to display completely.

I am working in Excel 2002 -- on a Del computer with XP. This doen't happen
everytime, but frequently enought to be REALLY annoying. Have not been able
to find a solution and really don't want to have to recreat this spreadsheet.

has anyone had any success "fixing" this issue?

Any suggestions would be appreicated.
