"not enough memory" during unattended clean setup from a network share

can someone help me? I've set up a network distribution
of winxp pro sp1 on a file server. If I try to perform a
clean installation (i.e. if i completely erase the
client's hdu) I get a "not enough memory" error and setup
aborts, while if I do the same from another OS, mapping
the file server drive, it works ... obviously is due to
DOS memory, but nor making a call to smartdrv.exe,
neither using a virtual disk with ramdrive, neither
modifying memory amount in DOSNET.inf it has been
successful. On the other side, a similar setup using
win2k pro works perfectly both in case of a clean setup
and a setup from another OS.

Can anyone suggest me how to resolve this problem??

Thanks,

Stefano
