Not able to receive e-mails

Please help I have gone through all the instructions on Windows mail help and
still get the error message below;
The connection to the server has failed. Account: 'pophost1.fwi.co.uk',
Server: 'pophost1.fwi.co.uk', Protocol: POP3, Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No,
Socket Error: 10060, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E
would be most grateful for any assistance this is driving me nuts!

Instructions for Outlook Express usually work under Windows Mail
also.
