i have two computers in a domain network however one of
the computers is working fine.the other on in am trying to
access some websites and they are accessible perfectly
howver some sites it loads the page but then the page
clears and stays blank[white]. we tried uninstalling IE
and reinstalling no luck. tried reinstalling MsJVM no
luck. played around with security settings but no luck
either.when i try and access the network it works fine so
that eliminated the network card or any of that sort as
accessing the network there isnt any problem at all.we
also installed the windows update from microsofts site but
no luck either. Can someone please give suggestions or
help us out here . Appreciate it

I have exactly the same problem. Even reformatted and reinstalled Windows XP
pro. It seems to be websites that run some sort of script. Active Scripting
is enabled.

From http://www.fjsmjs.com/OE/nolinks.htm

1. Click Start, and then click Run.

2. In the Open box, type:

regsvr32 urlmon.dll

3. Click OK, and then click OK again when you receive the following message:

DllRegisterServer in urlmon.dll succeeded.

4. If that doesn't fix it, see this article:

http://www.mvps.org/inetexplorer/answers.htm#new_window

You can also try this:

Go to Start/run, and type SFC (SFC /SCANNOW for Win2K or WinXP).
Choose 'Extract One File From Installation Disk'.
Type oleaut32.dll, not worrying about its location. Then, click Start.

Next to 'Restore From', type in or browse for the file's location, which is
probably in the Win98 folder of your installation CD-ROM (typically
D:\Win98), or in your Windows\Options\Cabs folder, as the case may be.

Then, next to 'Save File In', enter C:\Windows\System, and click OK. System
File Checker looks for the file, saves it as you requested, and then tells
you that 'the file has been successfully extracted'.

You may need to reboot.

I have the same problem as Janice. I've also resorted to
reinstalling XP -- no help though. I know it's related to
pages with active scripting.

Sorry but this made no difference either. The page will load and contect is
visible for a second or two. Then the content disappears. Looking at the
coding for the page in MS Front Page shows the page is all there - preview
shows all the content.

Looks like we may have found the cause. Neither Adaware or AVG have picked
this up. It's Ntsearch.com and installs under "sp.exe"
Apparently certain words on web sites are highlighted which then lead you to
another web site if clicked on. It's supposed to load pop-ups as well
although we were'nt getting them.

It's a CWShredder variant.
