Hi,

I have a dual boot 1.)2000-Professional and 2.) XP-
professional.

All of a sudden, not able to boot 2000-pro, as i get the
following error (blue screen)

----------------------

STOP: c000026C

\SystemRoot\System32\DRIVERS\Ich.sys could not be loaded

----------------------

The recent software i have installed is Microsoft Auto
updates (related to security).

The file is existing in the above directory and i was
able to verify by getting into Windows XP-pro. And i have
also verified "Registry entry for this" and it was fine.

How i will be able to correct this and get the 2000-pro
boot working.

Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks in Advance.

Most likely, you have a damaged device driver file.
I believe the Ich.sys is a modem driver.
Can you bot into safe mode and update this driver?
If not, use recovery console to disable this driver, then you should be able
to boot normally.
You may update the driver thereafter.
