norton internet security

I installed norton internet security 2004 the other day.
then for no reason the intrusion detection was disabled. when i try to
enable it i get a message that says i do not have permissino. make
sure my account has the right windows access to do this. does any
body out there have the same problem and if so do you know what it
would take to fix it.

This is a hardware group. Your question is not hardware related. Why aren't
you contacting Symantec's support?
