Norton Ghost v10 Problem

W

Hi everyone:

I have 2 HDs in a PC that runs XP + all released patches. I used to
image my boot drive (C) from a secondary drive (D), on which I
installed Ghost v10. I always had Ghost write the image to a DVD that
I tested for integrity in Ghost's "explorer" mode. Everything worked
fine ... until yesterday.

That backup seemed OK because I could access other programs and go
about my work, etc. But ... when I tried to access the backup DVD via
the Ghost explorer, my entire system locked! After the same thing
happened twice in a row I uninstalled Ghost on D and put it on C, with
exactly the same result.

I even ran a "chkdsk /f /r" on both drives before trying again with
the same result.

Does anyone have a clue of what's going on?

The DVD is too small for the data plus the temp files
needed during processing?
Try using the HD as a target & see if that works? Or
an external drive? Or making chunks out of the data
size? Quite a few different things possible.
