Thomas,

I use Norton Ghost and have a 120GB external USB HD. I
have not experienced any problems thus far. In fact, my
Ghost images are stored on the external HD.

Sure - but you can't do a disk to disk clone from the
quasi-DOS command line.

You need to use latest Norton Ghost (2004) which contains all drivers to
access USB ports under DOS!. Also, you need to use IOMEGA external drives for
these drivers to work properly!.

You might also want to read a guide/Tutorial of Norton Ghost and cloning
generally here:

Hope this helps.

Hmm - I have neither Ghost 2004 or IoMega external drive, but Ghost
2003 works fine imaging to my USB Maxtor drive.

Can you restore from it?

Can you restore from it?

Some computers can boot to usb drive. Some cant.

Those that can't maybe able to boot using a program called
usbdos.

Tip when using norton ghost. Do an image verify after you create your
backup.

This will prove that the cd can write to the hard drive.

If you are using Norton Ghost to clone a hard drive, is there any way that
you can check the integrity of the cloned drive without changing the drives
around and rebooting?
Thanks in advance,
Carolyn

Another way to check/verify an image is use the Explorer that
comes with it. I know in Drive Image there is a tool that allows
you to navigate through a image module and recover specific
files or folders. Usually, if you can navigate through the image
then chances are good it's verified. I believe Ghost still has the
Ghost Explorer, as part of the software.

Not with an OEM version. :<

How about Norton System Work Pro 2004?
Does the Ghost come with Ghost Explorer?
