Norton Ghost 12.0 give HDD error.

I get the following error message:

this HDD is about to fail. It is
recommended that this drive be replaced soon.
To ignore this error and back up this drive
select "Ignore bad sectors during copy" from
the advanced options in the Drive Backup
Wizard.

--Error EBAB03F1: Data error (cyclic
redundancy check).

Please advise what I should do.

Try HD Tune, provides drive info (S.M.A.R.T. Status) and has an option to
test your drive.

SpeedFan has an online S.M.A.R.T. analysis feature for hard drives.

You should also check your hard drive manufacture's site for Drive Testing

ran it and it showed just two 'damaged
blocks'. Here is a printout...

Do you think that this is serious enough to
warrant a replacement?

Have you tried Western Digital's Diagnostics?
If the drive is still under warranty it would be a good idea to contact WD.

Yes. According to a recent Google study on HDD failures, a drive with
ONE bad sector is 39 times more likely to fail within 6 Months as
without any. The odds are worse with multiples. I Advise backing up
ASAP (no need to PANIC, but don't dawdle either.)

(Do check on that warranty)
