Norton Antivirus and XP security centre

Why won't the Windows XP Security Centre acknowledge the
presence of Norton Antivirus 2002 ver.5? It says that
there is no antivirus program present?

Does it say it is not present or that it can't monitor the status?
If the second, that is normal until Norton releases an update to allow
the monitoring of the 2002 version:

KB884130 lists incompatible software. Norton 2003 is on the list. Maybe 2002
should be also. Go to www.microsoft.com and search for the article.

it does not affect operation of the AV , just tell it you will monitor it
yourself ..that will stop the popups
