Norton 360 Phishing Filter So Slow!!

Guest

Basically my problem is that since i have installed Norton 360, browsing the
internet is really slow. When clicking links on websites, i click it, and
then there is a lag of about 5 seconds before the page begins to load!!

I think this is something to do with the phishing filter in transaction
security in N360. However if i disable the whole of transcation security, all
of norton goes red with crosses everywhere. Not nice.

Any ideas on how i can just disable the phishing filter, or what else i can
do to solve the problem??

Any help will be muchly appreciated!! This is doing my head in!!!

Thanks
p.s. keep it simple!

I haven't allowed Norton near my systems since W95.
If you uninstall Norton, that problem should go away.
With so many better choices, and many free, why pay Norton to mess up your
system?

I have been using Norton 360 on my system and I have not noticed this
"delay" while browsing. As a matter of fact, contrary to other
comments you might read, I have been pretty satisfied (and surprised)
at Norton 360's non-obtrusive and reliable operation.

"Phishing Protection" is "on" and I don't see any noticeable delay
when MSIE opens or switches web pages. Mind you, I am using a
high-speed Internet connection (12 mbps/1 mbps) so maybe this has an
impact (?)

Unfortunately, I don't know if you can turn-off the "red" alert icon
when you disable Phishing Protection. Why not simply live with the red
alert icon? But then again, I also wonder if PP is really the root
cause for the 5-second delay as it is not happening on my system?
(subjective view, but hey, it's reality for me ;-)

My system:
CPU: AMD Athlon 64 X2 4600+
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-M59SLI-S5 w/nVIDIA nForce 590 SLI
RAM: 2048 MB
Video: BFG - NVIDIA GeForce 7950 GT OC (w/512 MB DDR3)
O/S: Microsoft Windows Vista Business
AV/AS/FW: Symantec Norton 360

Remove Nortons ASAP.
