Norton 2003 won't uninstall or install

After discovering the blaster worm and IRC trojan horse on
our computer running XP Pro, and fixing the problems, we
find we cannot install Norton 2003 because "a copy already
exists" nor can we uninstall it because apparently we
don't have it installed. Any ideas??

Use Symclean to remove the last of Norton.
