Northbridge Fans

Hey,
My northbridge fan on my Epox 8K7A no longer works (it makes horrible
noises and doesnt spin most of the time) does anyone know of somewhere UK
Based that i can buy a new one?

Have you tried to clean it? Like, you may wish to try removing it,
cleaning it, lubricating it, and then reinstalling it to see if it works
again.

you could just replace it with the zalman passive northbridge cooler. then
no more fan to worry about or listen to.

You could probably do away with it and use a zalman fanless northbridge
heatsink. I went to this after my gigabyte northbridge fan on my ga-7va
board failed in the first week.

o Failing that, aim for a low noise fan solution


Don't try to repair a fan, it will only work for a time since
the tolerances are no longer retaining oil & within spec.

I've simply oiled noisy or failing sleeve-bearing fans and had them live on
for years using 3-in-1 oil. I have one small AC fan that's been running in
this manner for about 15 years. YMMV. Recently with computer fans I only
use BB, none of which have failed yet.
