Low-noice solution for Northbridge-Fan on Abit IS7

Hello,

For few weeks, the northbridge fan on my IS7 board has been making an
unacceptable noice while working. I don't want to replace it with the
same type because I'm afraid the new one is going to have the same
problem. My question is: Can I remove the fan and/or replace it by
another, more silent product? And what fans can be taken into
consideration? Works the Titan C03E
(http://www.ichbinleise.de/product_info.php?cPath=26_54&products_id=635)
for example on this mainboard? I will not stand this annoying high noise
level any longer and hope you can help me.

Thanks

replace it with a passive (no fan) northbridge heatsink. zalman makes some
but there are specific instructions for the abit board as it doesn't fit
quite right, or you can just attach it with a thermal adhesive.

For example the Zalman ZM-NB47J? Where can I get the instructions you
are talking about? Thanks for your time.

yes or the ZM-NB32J. i only vaguely remember seeing something about the
pushpin mounts not being compatible with abit boards and, since i cant find
it again, i might be remembering instructions for mounting the CNPS7000A to
abit boards. if you cant use the pushpins you can always use the thermal
adhesive.

Zalman's CNPS7000A looks like a quite useful and heavy CPU-Cooler. Do you
really think I can use it on Northbridge? What do u think about ZM NB47J
mounted with thermal adhesive? Maybe its the best solution. Thanks for
help.
