Nortan anti virus

Is anyone else having problems with norton antivirus.I keep getting norton
antivirus was unable to start the instant messenger scanner.it will be unable
to scan the instant messenger downloads for infection.I have done everything
but it keeps coming up I had a virus & a trojan on my computer that it didn't
detect.I have tried different scans only 2 scans have come up with stuff
since saying there is adware but it will only remore a few each & it will
cost me over $100. & I don't have that.If you have the same problem or any
ideas how to fix please help.widows xp sp2 home edition.Thanks
 
Perhaps you should temporary turn off Norton and download AVG antivirus free
edition (do a search on Google) and see if that works better for you.

Many people come here with a virus on their system that use AVG my 2 cents
worth is forget it! Use real AV software. Try this for 30 days free.

Note:
The recent "WMF" hype their was I believe 78 differnt variants, AVG could
only detect 43 of them. NOD32 found all 78. Their has NEVER been a virus out
on the internet that NOD32 did not find! "according to virus bullitin".
What do you want protecting your system?

But it sounds like your problem is related more to malware
