Hello Doug

I have no idea how the message was sent directly to you. Actually it never
dispayed on my side and I have read your reply through Google's groups.

Anyway...how do I go about my detective work? Where should I start?

Sorry, I'm at a loss.

qim

Hi Qim,

If that is happening, there must be something that is changing the
normal.dot template. Maybe a custom toolbar or something else in an Addin
(a template in Word's startup directory). It's best to try and find out
what is causing the problem than to just block the message.

Please post any further questions or followup to the newsgroups for the
benefit of others who may be interested. Unsolicited questions forwarded
directly to me will only be answered on a paid consulting basis.

Hope this helps

Hi Qim,

The message was not sent directly to me. I responded to your post in the
microsoft.public.word.newusers newsgroup and I sent a copy directly to you.

If you haven't seen the response from fellow MVP Suzanne Barnhill, then take
a look at the following which she mentions in her response:

“WD2000: Prompt to Save Normal Template When You Quit Word” at
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=241763

In case you are using a version other than Word 2000, don't be put off by
that reference as the information is valid for other versions of Word as
well.

Please post any further questions or followup to the newsgroups for the
benefit of others who may be interested. Unsolicited questions forwarded
directly to me will only be answered on a paid consulting basis.

Hope this helps
