Why does the following dialog box constantly appear?
The file Normal.dot already exists. Do you want to replace the existing file?

Because you're trying to save the currently open document with that
name, and the file already exists. Mind you, it might not be a
deliberate attempt. Many Word macro viruses attempt to save everything
as the normal.dot template. I suggest that you try scanning your system
with an up-to-date antivirus application.

If you use Norton anti-virus, the problem may be due to the norton office
plug-in, which causes this and other
problems in Word. You can disable this plug-in to resolve the problem.

Open Norton AntiVirus and Click on the Options / Miscellaneous menu and
remove the check mark from "Enable Office Plug-in."
