Normal.dot has changed?

Exotic-Scales.com

When I shut down Outlook, I get a message saying Normal.Dot has changed &
asking if I want to save it. If I click on Cancel, I end up in a loop that
will not allow me to exit until I have saved the changed template. It does
this every time. Is this a known bug with an available fix? Thanks.

Try following:

Open Microsoft Word, go to

Tools | Options | Save

Deactivate there the Option "Query for saving normal.dot"

BTW: I do not know the correct name of this option; I only translated it
from german to englisch :-). If this name is not correct, I'm sure that
you'll find the option I mean anyway ;-)
 
It's called
"Prompt to save Normal template"

but anyway, I have this unchecked already and still get that silly question
from time to time. thus I have the same or similar problem as Exotic-Sales
(grin) has..

Hm, maybe it would help to create a new profile.

Control Panel | Mail | Profiles
 
Joe,

The Normal.dot file may be become corrupted this file. Search and rename
the file to something such as normal.dot1 and the restart system. This
should force it to create a new one.
