Non-breaking space in PowerPoint

Understand a non-breaking space can be added via Insert Symbol (time
consuming!)or using Alt + 0160 on a number pad. Problem is, like most
laptops, mine doesn't have a number pad! Does anybody know the keyboard
shortcut for inserting the required space symbol located in the (Normal Text)
symbol set (the first blank cell is the non-breaking space).

Works a treat! Many thanks for your help Steve.

It only seems to do the replacement if I type " (nb) " with spaces before and after. Maybe it's easier to just alt 0160 than space ( n b ) space backspace back backspace forward. Why doesn't ctrl+shift+space work like it doesin MS Word? Is ctrl+shift reserved?
