non active windows not disappearing behind active window

Can anyone please help. I have got a really frustrating problem, that seems
to have started out of the blue.

Often when there are links in a page, such as a search engine, I rather
right click and "open in New Window" so I still have the original result
window. However, I keep finding that when I open these new links, it opens a
new window, as it should, not as large as the original, which is also
perfect, but then the only way I can get back to the original window is my
minimising the new windows I have opened. I used to be able to click on the
larger non active window and it would make it active and it would be brought
to the front, however now, the window does not get brought to the front and
the only way I can view it again, is by minimising the newly opened screen.

I dont know if that makes sense, but basically I want to be able to click on
a ie window that is behind say this one, so it will bring it to the front,
however, this one would still remain on top, which I don't like.

Oh...do you think it might have something to do with the page loading? I
have just tested something now and I couldn't access the window behind, and
then I tried again when the knew page had finished loading and it worked
fine? If that is the case, how can I change that, so I don't have to wait
for the page to finish loading first?

Thanks
Shaz

I have had a look at the post on the OE Newsgroup, where it should never have
been posted in the first place.

Anyway, Bruce, your advice was not helpful, as you kind of missed the point.
I don't have a problem with the size of the window, that is fine, because
when I open it in a new window, it is ideal to have a small window so you can
still see the original window (which is large) to click back onto....however,
when I click back on the original large window, the smaller window does not
"disappear" behind the large window (or go to the back of the large window).

Anyone else?
