NOD32 causing reboot?

Larry

I'm switching to NOD32 from NAV2003 on my WinXP Pro notebook on a wireless
network. All the latest Windows security patches are in place.

I installed the trial version and it ran fine for a couple days. Then,
last night I uninstalled the trial and installed a registered copy. Now,
when connected to the interenet via broadband my computer is acting like it
has the sasser virus. I get the shutdown box referenceing lsass.exe and
error code 1073741819. I also get a Windows message saying there is a
problem with imon.dll

I ran Symantec's sasser removal tool and Microsofts sasser tool on the web
and both reported I wasn't infected. I also ran a full scan with NOD32
(latest updates) and it did not find any viruses.

I use Sygate firewall (free version).

I've unisntalled NOD32 until I can figure out if it's some compatibilty
issue or if I have to go back to NAV.

Anyone have any ideas to fix the problem or more things to check?

Thanks,
Larry

You could try writing to NOD support for advice. I've had to do this twice
in three years, and they have always responded within a few days.
OTOH, I understand that firewalls can often cause problems, maybe there is
some compatibility problem with NOD that there wasn't with NAV.

I've been emailing them but resolution is going slow. :)

I also checked out Spock's suggestion and I see a number of people are
reporting the same kind of problems.

I ended up uninstalling the registered version and put the trial back on
and all is well so I suspect there's a compatibility issue with that
computer as I installed the same registered version on my desktop and have
had no problems (yes, bought multiple licenses).

I don't understand why the trial version would work and the registered
wouldn't though.
