no XP logo on startup

Hi,

I have just installed SP2, and now I have no XP logo on startup. This in
itself is not serious, but if I run CHKDSK, I can't see anything (I can tell
from the hard drive light that CHKDSK is running).

I don't know where to begin to trouble-shoot this.

Any suggestions?

Somehow--it wasn't me--the /noguiboot option got added to BOOT.INI.
