no worksheets in a workbook - Excel 2003

Hi,
I have a workbook with several worksheets (>10) and 7 VBAProject
modules (with numerous procedures). The workbook is used to perform
calculations on a daily basis. After the calculation is complete the
results are saved as a daily file (containing 5 worksheets with values
only = no formulae, no macros/procedures).

Last Monday a file was created but when I try to open it is showing me
a macro alert warning (as if there were macros in the file while there
should not be any!). Monday's file is 23,5 kB while normally it is ca.
400 kB.

When I click on the button turning OFF macros in the workbook I get a
warning stating (more or less cause I am translating it from my
regional version) that "This workbook contains MSExcel 4 macros that
cannot be turned off. It may contain viruses. If the workbook is from
a trusted location then click Yes. Open it?" The only MSExcel 4 macro
I am using is GetValue function.

When I click on the button turning the macros ON nothing happens = no
file gets opened and the screen is "blank".

When I go ALT+F11 to look for xlHidden/xlVeryHidden sheets the
VBAProject window is greyed out and shows no objects. Insert->Module
and most of other menus are also greyed out.

Could anyone pls explain what is going on? or suggest a remedy?

Thks
Jarek

to supplement the a/m:

1. GetValue is not used in daily calculations

2. when opening last Monday's file with Notepad no summary info on
worksheet names or projects is there, only "traces" of functions (used
in the mother-workbook) provided by an Excel add-in from a leading
provider of (financial) market data
