I can't tell from your post if the just the shortcut is gone, of the
executable file is gone. The WordPad executable file should be in the
folder:

\Program Files\Windows NT\Accessories\wordpad.exe
If the wordpad.exe file IS there, right click it, left click Send
To/Desktop (create shortcut).DeskLink
Then you'll have a desktop icon for it.

Jose,

Let's first make sure you can access wordpad. Go to Start, hit Run, and
type 'wordpad' and press Enter. Hopefully Wordpad will open. If so, close
Wordpad and go back to your desktop. Right-click on a blank space on your
desktop and choose New > Shortcut. Click Browse and browse to c:\Program
Files\Windows NT\Accessories and highlight wordpad.exe. Click OK, then
Next, then type what you would like your shortcut to say, and finally click
Finish.
