No wireless tab under wireless connection properties

Alex

I just installed a wireless PC card adapter on my windows
XP home laptop and I am trying to set up the connection.
The wireless network works fine with two other computers,
but on this particular laptop, when i select "view
available wireless networks" everything is grayed out. I
can't click "advanced" or "Okay" I can only click cancel.
If i right click on the Wireless ethernet connection and
go to "properties," there isn't a wireless tab, wich
normally appears. Anybody have any thoughts?

Open services and scroll down to Wireless Zero Configuration Service, Start
the service and set it to automatic. If it does not show in the list of
Services:

run regedit and find

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\WZCSVC

add a DWORD entry named "Start" and
value "2"
