Thanks Jon for your speedy reply!
1) 836936 suggested reregistering .msscript.ocx failed 0x00000485(this file
is not on harddrive or cd)
2) 193385 suggested accepting activex controls via left menu of winupdate
using 'product updates' (doesnt exist!)
3) cleared tif ,history,v4 directory,host file
4) reinstalled ie5.5
5) reinstalled win98 se
None of the above made any difference
Anything else i can try?
Aubrey

Hi Robear
Thanks for your input!
Tried troubleshooter for "downloading doesnt start"
1) re registered dll's as requested.(msscripted.ocx failed as file doesnt
exist on h/d or cd)
2) reassociated .js with wscript.exe as suggested
3) re installed ie5.5
4) re installed win98 se
all of the above did not solve problem
Have you any other suggestions i can try
Thanks for your help
Aubrey
