cannot accept/sent voice/video from him. Unintalling MSN6
and installing MSN 5 has not changed anything. on the
other hand my newphew can have voice chat with ppl with
whom PC I can't cooenct. With my Brother in Norway(WIN XP
PRO, P4, DSL) me ACCEPTING invitations does not works but
if I send invitations than its OK. can some one tell me Y
MSN 6 has creating such mess. THANKS and God Bless!

The only other thing I think of, is that you may have ICS
(Internet Connection Sharing) or ICF (the built-in XP
firewall) enabled. Try disabling these options, if they
are enabled. This may explain why you can initiate a
voice/video session, by can not accept one, ie. incoming
connections are beening blocked.

There are other postings on this newsgroup that will show
you how to configure the Winodws/MSN Messenger via ICF,
if this is the casue of the problem.

PS - How are you connecting to the Internet? Via an XP's
PPPoE connection or router? If you have a router make
sure that is has UPnP support and it is enabled. In some
routers you need to manually enable it.

Hummm...

If your ISP employes it's own firewall and have certain
ports blocked, there is not much you can do. Unless you
can get them to open up the respective port. (The ports
are listed in other posting in within news group).

I also recall reading somewhere that there may also be a
bug with MSN 6 on Win98, where voice/video will not work
if the user does NOT have a network card installed and
configured. You may have to wait for MS to release a bug
fix.

I suggest you check the following newsgroup for further
details :-

microsoft.public.msn.messenger

I'm sorry I can't be of further help.

PS - Have you tried Windows Messenger 4.7 with your
brother?

Mr. Spoke

Thanks Dear Again for sparing some time for me,
I think you are right its Win 98/WinME which may be
causing trouble. I tried MSN 6 and Wiindows Messenger 4.7
with MSN 6 worked fine from both sides. It seems the only
computers with OLD operating Systems seem to infected for
Voice/Vedio. Well now either we have to change OS or wait
for the fix.
My brothers Unintalled MSN 6 and tried MSN 5 with me but
didn't work.
Thanks Again :)
