no video on the powerpoint-show

After changing from W98 to XP I have experienced problems when trying to use
PC-projectors showing my mpg-video.
The video plays nicely at the PC-screen but not on the wall. On the wall
only a square black area is seen and the icons for playing/pause/etc.

Have tried Fn+F7 and different resolutions, but no video signal?
My PC is a IBM T30, but the same problem we have experinced on other IBM´s
and different projectors (Sharp).
We would be very happy, if somebody could help us to solve the problem.

try using only the projector as an output from your

video card (disable the monitor)
