No USB devices recognized anymore

I'm using WinXP SP2, ASUS P4P800 SE motherboard, with 8 available USB
ports. I used to have a HP printer and a digital camera connected via
USB. After uninstalling ActiveSync, the USB devices (printer, camera
and pendrives) are no longer recognized by the system (or rather - not
found at all). I tried to re-install the USB drivers, but it didn't
help.

Any advice on what could be the problem?

The uninstall of ActiveSync may have changed something. I would
run sfc /scannnow. Also you might try: _completely power down_
your PC and your router and your modem for a few minutes.
