I recently had to completely re-install XP. After doing
so, I do not have the ability to place the system in
standby mode anymore. How can I turn this feature on?

Visit the support website of the manufacturer of your computer
or video card adapter, search for Windows XP compatible drivers,
download and install them. The Standby button should then appear.

Note: If you have a notebook computer, download the video adapter
drivers only from the notebook computer manufacturer's support website.
