I have a Stand By Switch which isn't high lighted and

in the stand by mode. Any ideas ?
The first thing that I would check is your BIOS settings for APM
(Advanced Power Management). Restart your computer, and as it is booting
up, enter your computer's BIOS setup (you'll need to press DEL, F2, or
some other key as your computer is booting; your computer should give
you on-screen directions on how to enter the BIOS setup when you power
it on).
Now look for a main APM option on the BIOS setup screen, and make sure
it is set to "enable" or "on". Reboot into Windows and see if that fixes
your problem.
