Computer keeps restarting

When I turn off my computer using the "turn off computer window" with the 3
buttons; Stand By, Turn Off, & Restart, it just continues to restart. The
only way to turn it off so that it stays off is to pull the plug or use the
toggle switch on the back of the computer. I have run several scans with
Norton and Ad-aware (both fully updated) and can find no problems. --

Any ideas?

Are you on SP2 with all critical updates?
Does this happen in safe mode?
What's in your event logs?

I'll try safe mode

I'm not familiar w/ event logs. I'll search em out and look.

All right after dinner.

Right click My Computer | Properties | Advanced tab | Startup and Recovery -
Settings. Untic automatically restart on error. Ok out. Now on restart if
it stops at a blue screen giving an error message record it verbatim and
start some research on it here:

What changes were made to the system right before this problem started?
Have you tried a system restore to before that time?

Right click my computer. Then Properties - Advanced tab - Startup and
recovery - Settings - untick Automatically restart - OK

Next time you shut down it may halt with a message on the screen which
hopefully will give some clues.

OK, it did the same thing in safe mode.

The only eventlog I found are 3 dll files that I don't know how to open.

I'm going to try Rock & Spikey senarios while I wait for your reply..
