No Speakers, help!

Be gentle with me, I hate and have little knowledge of this stuff. The geat
Dell Helpdesk had me do a complete re-install of my system (Windows XP Home
Edition) and ever since I can get no sound from my speakers. A friend played
around a bit and told me I need a patch from Microsoft. Anyone else have
this problem and possibly a link for me to download the patch.

Double check and reseat all audio connections.

Check your Volume Control, make sure all are up and none muted.
Also under Advanced, look for "Digital Output", change the setting.

You may need the sound driver for your computer:

You may also need other hardware drivers.
