No sounds on MSN 6.2

Hi there,
I have been struggling with problem for a while now.
Whn using msn messenger and some sends me an IM there are
no noticifcation sounds and no sounds when i recieve an
email, the option is ticked to play sounds when some sends
me an IM but still there is no sound. I have uninstalled
and reinstalled msn but still no joy. Can anyone shed some
light on this problem? i would be very grateful if someone
could help me solve this problem.

Misterxpro, have you tried setting up the "Audio Wizard" (MSN
Messenger>Tools>Audio Wizard), on the third page there is a box "I am using
headphones (can be checked/unchecked).

Of that i am not sure but ill will certinally check for
the "i am using headphones" option, although i think that
it is not ticked i could say for sure.

Go to sounds in Control Panel and under the Sounds Tab be sure you have
sounds selected for the functions you want to "hear"

That seems to solve the problem, but the only trouble is
i cant seem to get the msn default sounds. Can you help
me out with the final part of the problem?

The default messenger sounds are .wav files in the c:/Program Files/MSN
Messenger folder, so these are the ones you should have selected.
