no sound

I've had good sound until yesterday when it stopped completely. There is no icon at the bottom right hand coner (whether there was before or not, I'm not sure). Can anyone offer a cure? Your help will be appreciated.
 
Do a Restore of your system, it may solve your problem
Start/All Programs/Accessories/System Tools/System Restore
You can go back up to 90 days.
