no sound

For some reason I have no sound and when I look at the device manager the
sound has an exclamation mark and when I try to find a solution this is the
answere I get: "This device cannot start. (Code 10)

Click 'Check for solutions' to send data about this device to Microsoft and
to see if there is a solution available."
Please help, Thanx
 
If it previously worked System Restore to a time before the problem started.
 
Did you *ever* have sound?
If so, roll back to the sound driver that worked.
If not, locate and install the correct driver for your sound hardware.
