No Sound..

Brand new computer with Windows Vista home premium. Logitech speakers, main
speaker is connected to
line out jack on back of the processor. No sound. The PC is an MSI K9N6GM
Series Nvidia Geforce MCP61(V/S/P) chipset based designed for socket AM2 AMD
Athlon 64?X2 and Sempron Processors, dual core.
I've checked my sound card options and they appear correct..I may be dumb or
missing some small
operation I have'nt done. I also us a Compag Monitor 19" Flat screen WF1907
with dual speakers
on the front sides, but the speaker cord & is not plugged in to the PC so I
dont believe this to
be a contentious problem...Can anybody out there assist me. Thanks.

Been there done that with some machines, in a lot of cases the sockets
on the back can be configured for different functions so #1 try plugging
the speakers in elsewhere, the usual socket is green but who knows.

Make sure the volume control settings are all correct, usually double
click the icon and you will see a number of sliders, Master Vol, CD and
Wave or PCM and Line in.

If it is windows sounds and not music you are wanting then find the
sounds applet in control panel and makes sure they are enabled, there's
a test button for most of the usual sounds.
